This past weekend my dear friend, Kristyna, got married and well technically there was no chapel involved but there was a barn! This was by far the most unique and personal wedding I have ever seen and it was beautiful.
Kristyna and Zac were married at a gorgeous farm here in Kentucky and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect. The day got off to a bad start for me when I had some hair issues and had to make an emergency run to the groom’s aunt for help. But after that hiccup, the day seemed to be nothing but wonderful.
Kristyna and all of her bridesmaids met for lunch in the office of the barn, where the reception was to be held. Now when I say barn, we are not taking about your average country farm barn. This is a beautiful horse barn and the one thing you know if you live in Kentucky, show horses are better taken care of than some people here. Also, on the property is a beautifully restored 100 year old mansion that looks like something you would see in Southern Living. I couldn’t find a picture of the barn and I failed to take one myself but I did find a picture of the house. This, ladies and gentlemen, is my dream home:
The bride wore a beautiful tiered lace dress and her boots no doubt, that perfectly fitted the outdoor occasion. We, the bridesmaids, all wore white dresses and also got to go out with our boots on! It was a casual occassion and if you know my friend, you wouldn’t expect anything less. She is a very laid back person, in fact, the only time I recall seeing her stress the slightest bit was right before we went down the aisle and her hair wasn’t quite cooperating for her. Other than that, the whole wedding was completely stress free and I think that is one of the greatest things you can ask for on your wedding day.

One unique thing about their wedding was that there was not a flower girl or a ring bearer. In fact, there were about 10 cow bell ringers that all went down the aisle at the same time. Each bell ringer was a child of a close friend or family member including my two boys, Carter and Jude, who both surprisingly made it down the aisle without a glitch. (Shew!) It was precious watching them all!

Kristyna is one of the most creative people I know, so it was no surprise to me that this wedding had so many unique qualities. This wedding was one of those Pinterest worthy occasions. My favorite part was the Sugar Station, which was a table that held all their favorite desserts. This wasn’t your normal traditional wedding, so there wasn’t a cake but instead several different choices that served as the “wedding cake”, which I loved! Let’s face it, if you’ve had one wedding cake, you’ve had them all. But now a wedding that serves chess pie…….that’s what I’m talking about! 😉
Needless to say, it was an unique and beautiful wedding and I couldn’t be more happy for Zac and Kristyna. It was an absolutley perfect day, with perfect weather, and with a couple who is perfect for each other!
