Recently my hubby and I both celebrated birthdays! His July 3rd and mine the 6th, we are both “firecracker babies”!

We spent Dustin’s birthday celebrating with a night in Louisville by attending a free music festival and enjoying the city!

We wanted to stay within walking distance of the festival so that we would be able to push the stroller and still not be too far for Carter who was walking. So, we ended up staying at the Galt House which turned out to be perfect.

Before going to the hotel, the boys and I took Dustin to his favorite store.

For dinner we ate at Joe’s Crab Shack and Dustin was very surprised with how they thought he should celebrate. Let’s just say I have never seen birthdays at Joe’s or I probably wouldn’t have told them it was his! Ooops!

Here he is all happy before dinner….

And then they made him do this…..1056595_10100520776781433_780446310_o Needless to say the boys and I found it to be very entertaining, him not so much. Haha!

The festival was little muddy from all the rain we have gotten here lately but we still had fun and the boys enjoyed all the inflatables and games. We left a little early because a bigger named act, who I actually had never heard of, was about to start singing and it was getting very, very crowded. So we took a little walk down to the water fountains! I wish we had these in our town.

We ended the night watching the most amazing fireworks over the Ohio River!

For my birthday, I was lucky enough to get to visit my cousin in the hospital who just gave birth to her first child, a little girl.

Then because I only get to watch animated movies (are there other kinds?) we went to see Despicable Me 2. Here we are all ready:

Such a cute movie!

My family always does birthdays right and this year was no different. They had a wonderful cookout at my parent’s house that weekend to celebrate.

Here was our “cake”

I am not a huge fan of cake but I am a huge fan of my Aunt’s chocolate chips cookies! Works for me!

They even made sure we had special plates for each of us. 1056512_10100524786984953_1419222580_o His camo, of course and mine my favorite color. Very thoughtful!

If that wasn’t enough, my boss, Tim, made a cake for my birthday to celebrate at the florist!
So much fun! I love birthdays! This week has been pretty uneventful by comparison. I am so thankful for a wonderful, loving family who also makes us feel so special! We truly are blessed. 🙂

Hope everyone has a wonderful week!
